The first series of Pop Collectables has aired on Foxtel's Aurora channel to overwhelming success.; so much so that the entire series has been re-run four times within the past year-bravo!
Highlights of the series includes the House of Star Wars. A fan whose collection became so big that its owner had to buy a bigger home to house it. We filmed the Kylie Minogue Collection at Sydney's Powerhouse Museum, a stunning collection of over 40 stage and video costumes plus Kylie's various MTV Music Awards. Nice!
We have flown across the Tasman to visit with Richard Taylor at WETA WORKSHOP and COLLECTIBLES, the movie magicians behind such movie magic as The Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia and King Kong. We not only recorded a segment for the pilot episode but Richard was generous enough to give us enough material for an entire 30-minute WETA Special (which has famously become our third episode)
We have filmed collections of rock supergroup KISS in Sydney, Xena-Warrior Princess in Canberra, Railway Miniatures in The Blue Mountains, Battlestar Galactica, and Michael Jackson in NZ, and huge segments with EBay.com.au
WHAT DO YOU COLLECT?
We are looking for pop culture collections for series two. If you would like us to show your collection to the world, let us know. The filming will give you a great momento should you ever downsize or lose your collection due to unforseen circumstances. (Great proof for your insurer!)
Drop us a line telling us about your collectiion on the envelope icon below, or drop an email to popcollectables@yahoo.com
